Good news! Instagram announced that the chronological feed is back as well as a ‘Following’ and ‘Favorites’ feed but what does this mean for your podcast?
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, revealed why they’re making the change:
“We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction.”
With this update, your Instagram feed will be split into three view options:
Home (main): The current default feed with ranked and personalized content
Following: The chronological feed you know and love.
Favourites: A second chronological feed with content from your favourite list of accounts.
What does Instagram chronological feed this mean for my podcast?
Posts from accounts in ‘Favourites’ will show up higher in the Home feed, giving you an extra visibility boost while scrolling. This means you can start encouraging your followers and listeners to add your podcast page to their ‘Favourites’ feed so they don’t miss any updates from you.
